Test to find the down syndrome during pregnancy
There are 2 test to check for down syndromes during pregnancy
Triple Marker Test | Quadruple Marker Screening
- Blood Test: Measuring levels of certain hormones in the mother's blood.
- Accuracy: It indicate a higher or lower risk of Down syndrome.but not definitive.
- Applicable weeks: Typically done between the 15th and 20th weeks of pregnancy.
Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT)
- Blood Test: Blood Test of Mother used for analyzing ,fetal DNA in the mother's blood.
- Accuracy: Highly accurate in detecting Down syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities.
- NIPT test Eligibility: Can be done as early as 10 weeks of pregnancy.
